THELMA receives grant from U.S. Bank Foundation for Fond du Lac Children’s Chorale

Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts (THELMA) is proud to announce they are the recipient of a $1,000 grant from U.S. Bank Foundation.

The grant will be used to fund a portion of Fond du Lac Children’s Chorale, THELMA’s resident ensemble. The grant also makes scholarships available for those who may not otherwise be able to join the chorale.

“The generous support from U.S. Bank Foundation allows us to provide affordable programming for children and assists us in opening doors to all students who may want to participate,” said Jacqui Corsi, THELMA Executive Director.

The Fond du Lac Children’s Chorale rehearses weekly during the school year, and performs a Holiday and a Spring concert at THELMA.

U.S. Bank contributes to the strength and health of its communities through the U.S. Bank Foundation and Corporate Giving. Total annual funding for both programs reached $54.2 million in 2016.

“With its long tradition of supporting the arts, U.S. Bank is very pleased to play a part in offering opportunities to children provided by THELMA,” said Kim Schmitz, Vice President- District Manager of U.S. Bank.

THELMA has many opportunities for children. THELMA provides On Stage @THELMA, an arts day camp where children learn the lines, music and dancing for a play. They build the sets and they perform the play at the end of the camp.

THELMA offers Studio 51, a regular class focusing on a different art form throughout most of the school year. This year, THELMA added Set the Stage classes, a series of mini camps designed to help students gain theatre skills.

If other community members wish to help fund the scholarship program or any of the fine children’s programming at THELMA please contact Jacqui Corsi at jacqui@thelmaarts.org.

THELMA is located at 51 Sheboygan St., in the heart of Downtown Fond du Lac’s Arts and Entertainment District.
