THELMA announces name change to visual artist program
Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts (THELMA) announced the name of its visual artists program Fond du Lac Visual Artists will be changed to THELMA Visual Artists (TVA). The name change reflects THELMA’s ongoing commitment to visual artists and marks a new beginning for the program.
“We are thrilled to have our local artists be even more engaged in the THELMA story,” said Jacqui Corsi, THELMA’s Executive Director. “We look forward to how together we can increase the visibility of the work being done locally and how THELMA can assist in fostering those who wish to pursue the arts.”
As a THELMA program, TVA fosters creativity and focuses on professional development through a supportive artist community. The enhanced program will provide new benefits to artists, including exhibition opportunities, group critiques, discounts on classes and artist workshops, along with paid teaching opportunities. Additionally, TVA Members will enjoy the benefits of a THELMA Membership and gain important networking opportunities with other artists and arts professionals.
Membership dues are $40 per year for the Artist Member and $100.00 per year for the Non-Volunteering Artist Member. Artists interested in applying for a membership should send an artist statement, artist resume, 5-10 high quality images of their work, and an image list to [email protected]. Membership applications are juried by TVA members and notification of jury results generally takes two weeks. More information on TVA can be found HERE.
THELMA is located at 51 Sheboygan St., in the heart of Downtown Fond du Lac’s Arts and Entertainment District. THELMA is a member-based, privately-funded non-profit dedicated to providing arts experiences not readily available in the area. Intimate concerts in the Great Hall, street concerts with major performers, indoor films, and art from world-renowned artists are available at THELMA. THELMA also offers a stunning backdrop for weddings, meetings and all social and corporate gatherings.
