Pat Reiher to Teach Metals Classes at THELMA
Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts (THELMA) announced that local artist and retired arts instructor Pat Reiher will teach two six-week metal jewelry workshops at THELMA, one for beginners and one for students with experience in metalworking.
Majik Metals will be held Tuesday evenings April 17 – May 22 from 5:30pm to 8:30pm.
Master Metals will be held Thursday evenings April 19 – May 24 from 6pm to 9pm.
These classes offer an opportunity for participants to design and create unique jewelry using metals and found materials. Students in the Majik Metals workshop, offered for students new to metalworking, will learn about the manipulation of metals, including how to cut, texturize, shape, solder, patina, polish and attach additional pieces. The Master Metals workshop is for those familiar with metalworking equipment and processes. Students will work with soldering, etching, texturizing, and many other jewelry techniques.
The classes include all standard equipment and materials, and if students wish to work with specialty metals or stones they will need to pay an additional fee. Students should bring a sketchbook or paper for working up designs, pencil and eraser, and any special small objects to incorporate into designs.
The one-time fee for each six-week course is $175 ($140 for THELMA Members). Visit HERE or call 920.921.5410 to sign up for the class. Class size is limited.
