Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts (THELMA) announced there will be three opportunities this summer to take a jewelry making class from Pat Reiher.

Reiher is a retired St. Mary’s Springs Academy instructor. The class dates are Wednesdays, June 21, July 19 and August 23. You may take just one or all three.

The class offers an opportunity for participants to design and create unique jewelry using metals and found materials. Reiher said students will learn to manipulate metals by cutting, etching, stamping, shaping and joining through a variety of cold connections. Students will be working with copper and brass as well as interesting found materials and tools.

The class will be held from 9 am to 3 pm. A belt sander, grinder, buffer, hand tools, and metal will be supplied.

Students should bring a sketchbook or paper for working up designs, pencil and eraser, any special small objects to incorporate into designs, and brown bag lunch.

The fee is $75 ($60 for THELMA Members). Visit thelmaarts.org and click Learn or call 920.921.5410 to sign up for the class. Class size is limited.

THELMA is located at 51 Sheboygan St., in the heart of Downtown Fond du Lac’s Arts and Entertainment District. THELMA is a member-based, privately-funded non-profit dedicated to providing arts experiences not readily available in the area.
