The Sturgeon Spectacular is back for 2022. This celebration of winter and really big fish can only be found in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin on the 2nd weekend in February. This fun-filled weekend has events for all ages and interests – indoor, outdoor, downtown, at Lakeside Park, and throughout the Lake Winnebago Region.

Join us in Downtown Fond du Lac for the very popular Wisconsin State Snow Sculpting Championship all weekend long, Ice Sculpting Competition, Horse-drawn Carriage Rides, Running of the Sturgeon, Live Entertainment and winter-themed exhibits at Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts, Chili Crawl, Family activities and Sturgeon Mini Games, Hot Cocoa and Chocolate Crawl, and lots of Spectacular Specials at various bars, restaurants, and hotels.Visit Lakeside Park on Saturday, February 12th for more family-friendly activities including the Outdoor Curling Bonspiel right on Lake Winnebago, Free Horse-drawn Carriage Rides through the park, Kids Fun Run & 5K, Biggest Sturgeon Contest, Snow Land family activities, live music, a huge community bonfire, and more. For the adults, don’t miss the Spear the Beer Specials as well as Spearing & Beering Festivities with Lakefront Brewery at Lakeside Park.

Amateur Snow Sculpting Competition
Join us during Sturgeon Spectacular 2022 for the Amateur Snow Sculpting Contest on Sheboygan Street! Sculpt smaller snow blocks right across from the professionals! On Saturday February 12th, groups will be assigned their own snow block to carve between 12:30pm and 4pm. Judging will begin at 4:15 pm and awards presented Sunday the 13th at 2pm on THELMA’s plaza. Teams for amateur snow sculpting contest should consist of 1-4 individuals. 1st place will be awarded a trophy and a $25 THELMA gift certificate. Great for family fun! Dress for the weather!

Bring your own tools to sculpt with! Here are some examples: Various sized kitchen utensils (spoons, knives, forks, metal/rubber spatulas, etc.) Ice or paint scrapers Snow shovels Woodworking tools (chisels, hand saws, screwdrivers, etc.) Paint brushes Gardening tools (spades, trowels, etc.) Spray bottle for water
