Introduction to DSLR Digital Photography – Two Parts
Introduction to Digital Photography is aimed at owners of interchangeable lens digital cameras (DLSRs and Mirrorless) with the intent of teaching the individual how to get the most out of their camera.
This class has two sessions, July 22 and July 29 from 1 to 4 pm each day. Bring your digital camera and manual. The fee is $32 for members and $40 for nonmembers.
How to use functions beyond AUTO; how to use aperture and shutter priority modes. Upon completion of the course the individual will understand the capabilities of their camera, know what elements create a good photograph and will have the confidence to tackle virtually any photographic situation and come out with a quality photograph. Individuals will understand exposure, focus, elements of composition and what lenses to use in what situations.
About the instructor
Taught by Tom Ferguson who has been involved in photography since the late 60’s. While in college he worked in a camera shop and practiced still photography and produced several Super 8mm movies. Upon graduation he joined Eastman Kodak Company where he had a successful 27 year career. Upon leaving Kodak Ferguson held a variety of managerial and leadership positions at several hi tech imaging oriented firms ranging from wide format inkjet printing to imaging software.
Retired for 6 years he is presently on the board of advisors for High Sierra Workshops (a photographic workshop company) and vice president of Sheboygan Visual Artists. His photographic work has been exhibited in a wide variety of juried venues including; THELMA Sadoff Center For The Arts, Racine Art Museum – Wustum Museum, Cedarburg Art Museum, Cedarburg Cultural Center, John Michael Kohler Center For The Arts, Two Fish Gallery and Sheboygan Visual Artists.Buy Tickets
