Cool Jewels Workshop for Beginners
This is a workshop meant for beginners in metalworking. It is a four-week course held on the following Tuesdays: March 10, 17, 31 and April 7 from 5:30 – 8:30 pm.
Design and create your own unique jewelry using metals and found materials. Learn to manipulate metals by cutting, etching, stamping, shaping and joining through a variety of cold connections. You will be working with copper and brass as well as interesting found materials and tools. No prior knowledge required.
Pat Reiher has been an active artist/teacher in the community for over 35 years. She taught high school art at the Springs, Continuing ED classes at UW-FDL and additional workshops in the community and the region. Her work is in several private collections and galleries and she continues to exhibit in regional art shows.
Materials to bring
- Sketchbook or paper for working up designs
- Pencils and eraser
- Any special small objects might like to incorporate into your designs
Class size: 5-10 students
All equipment will be supplied; belt sander, grinder, buffer, hand tools, and metal.
The four-week course fee is $150 ($120 for THELMA members).
