From one of musical theatre’s most exciting new composers comes Ordinary Days, a refreshingly honest and funny musical about making real connections in the city that never sleeps (but probably should at some point).
Ordinary Days tells the story of four young New Yorkers whose lives intersect as they search for fulfillment, happiness, love, and cabs. Through a score of vibrant and memorable songs, their experiences ring startlingly true to life. Ordinary Days is an original musical for anyone who’s ever struggled to appreciate the simple things in a complex place. With equal doses of humor and poignancy, it celebrates how 8.3 million individual stories combine in unexpected ways to make New York City such a unique and extraordinary home.

THE CLAW! A New Children’s Musical comes to THELMA!
THELMA’s arts day camp – On Stage @ THELMA will feature the theatrical adventure “The Claw!” During the two-week camp, fourth through eighth grade students learn the lines, the songs, the choreography, and build the sets. On the final day, students will perform the musical for family and friends!
This new musical is packed with fun, adventure, and life lessons about dealing with transitions and embracing the unfamiliar. When an out-of-order claw game suddenly turns back on, all the toys are ecstatic! Well… all the toys except for Dot, a terrified stuffed cow. Dot’s desperate to hold onto her home and her best friend, Aiden. Can Dot conquer her fear of the unknown with some help from the Flair Bears, Mighty Mutant Power Turtles, Beanie Elders, and the all-knowing Mystical 8-ball?
Eva Thelen-Dunphy, director of the Fond du Lac Children’s Chorale at THELMA will direct the production again this year. Eva has more than 10 years of experience directing and producing Children’s Theater, including last year’s On Stage @ THELMA production of “BOTS!” The children will also gain hands-on experience with set design by working with visual arts instructor Anoush Cowles. Cowles teaches at Evans and Rosenow elementary schools. Both bring a passion for children’s creative process to the production!
Purchase tickets for their performance on Friday, August 12 at 6 PM!
Date: Friday, August 12
Time: 6 PM
Bar Opens: 5 PM
