2019 Season: Tuition Changes

Dear FCC Parents,

First, thank you so much for your support and for choosing Fond du Lac Children’s Chorale (FCC) for your child.

In author Stacy Horn’s book, Imperfect Harmony: Finding Happiness While Singing with Others, you get a first-hand account and cited scientific evidence, of how music uplifts and empowers. We couldn’t agree more. THELMA is committed to continuing the FCC program at a high level and to bring this wonderful art-form to our community.

In addition to maintaining a high-quality program for children, we have worked hard to keep pricing at a level so that anyone who wants to participate can sing in our chorale. This is why we haven’t raised the tuition in many years and why we ask for sponsorships, especially for scholarships.

Tuition has not covered all operation costs for the program; however, we have reached a point where we need to increase the fee. Sheet music, facility costs and more have increased, and this tuition increase will put THELMA in a better position to continue to provide this wonderful program. We have developed a new pricing structure and also are providing opportunities for discounts. It’s important to us that all who want to participate have an avenue to do so.

First, if you pay for both semesters or a single semester by September 1, you may pay your child’s tuition at the current rate.

Second, after September 1, the new rate will go into effect and is as follows:

$300 per student for both semesters
$200 per student for one semester
$225 per additional sibling for both semesters
$150 per additional sibling for one semester

Finally, after the September 1 date, discounted rates will be available for parents willing to volunteer for the program. More information on volunteer opportunities will come soon. Please alert Michael or David if you are interested in volunteering.

Another change is that tuition must be paid in full by September 30. If your child will participate only in the Spring semester, a deadline for payment will be established next semester. Only families who have paid in full by the deadline may continue to participate.

If you have any questions or concerns about these changes, feel free to reach out to me, Michael or David. It is not our intention to create any hardships, so please do not hesitate to contact us.

Again, thank you for your continued support!

Warm regards,

Jacqui Corsi
THELMA Executive Director
